Free Resources

The Latin inscription over the doors of the West-facing entrance translates as: “Like runners, they hand on the torch of life.”

Footnote: Why a library rather than a museum as a photo metaphor here? I like the concept of free exchange as more appropriate in today’s online world. Opportunities to share and global learning are all around us as we transition from books to digital content. Before books and the printing press, it was artists’ paintings which people used to communicate to the masses. With today’s electronic media, libraries and museums have a new digital paradigm. Creating digital art & photography is all new again too.

For those of us who enjoy making images there is much to learn in the transition from physical art mediums into digital creations. It is not only the tools and technology of our craft that have changed, but also the marketing and distribution of ideas and learning.

Helpful videos & web sites

This is a partial listing of free resources I have found useful for learning new techniques and getting inspiration. These are some great starting points. There is always YouTube and Google for very specific how-to video topics. Use the search tools and be amazed what is out there.
